Mo's Challenge #174

Bling!

Here's one of the cards I made from taking the one below apart. I'm much happier with how this one turned out!
Al the information is the same except for the image, which I switched out for one of the three little cuties in Mo's set "Tea for Three".  I also added some tiny pearls around the image and used paper-piecing on her dress.

Bling is the theme for Mo's Challenge this week!
I always have a problem with challenges that call for bling! I love glitter and shine on other people's cards, but never seem to be able to pull it off myself.

This card gave me trouble from the very start! Nothing went the way I envisioned, and I couldn't get it to look any better.  I wished I'd moved the image a little to the right for better balance. I'm actually taking this whole thing apart and making two cards out of it. I'll be using a different, smaller image with less colors on this card and using this image on a background with less frill.

Here's a picture that shows I did use some glitter!

Images: "Catching Up" (full version)  from Mo's Digital Pencil, Stamped greeting from SU!

Tools: Copics, White gel pen, Cuttlebug with Marianne flourish and  Nestibilities circle dies, Mounting tape, Tacky tape

Papers: SU! Melon and Sage, Neenah white, Digital DP

Embellishments: Paper Doily, Stickles, Satin ribbon, Pink glitter, Flowers from WOC, Hat pin, Beads, Teacup charm

Join us in Mo's Challenge this week and show us what you can do using an image from Mo and some bling! You just might be one of the lucky ones to win a $5.00 gift certificate from Mo's Digital Pencil

This card uses the image "Lambs Playing" from A Day For Daisies. Aren't these little lambs the sweetest?! I think the digital sentiment is perfect for this card which I'll be using for Easter.

The flowers are from WOC, and the pretty digital paper is from Jak Heath.

Feeling Springy!

Today we're in the midst of another big snowstorm, and I'm pining for milder weather! Spring is just around the corner even though you couldn't tell by looking outside!
I've made some very springy cards recently to offset the snow and cold.

This card and the one below it were made using free images from Crafts on the Net.
Check out the site for some really cute images!
I had so much fun coloring those daffodils! They are one of my favorite flowers.

=================================

The next two used images from Cuddly Buddly. There is a whole series of images of this sweet little bunny called Toby. I loved coloring these, also!

This one uses adorable DP from Mo's Digital Pencil.

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

These last two use images from A Day For Daisies.
The paper on the first was a free digital download.

I've entered the card above in the Challenge at A Day For Daisies, use die cuts.

Well, that's it for now! Hope this helped to bring a bit of warmth to your day!

Mo's Challenge # 173

Anything But Square!

That's Mo's Challenge for this week! I guess I  should have made a shaped card,
but I cheated a bit and did one of my usual rectangular cards instead! Well, it isn't square, is it?

Can't believe I haven't used this adorable image before now!
It was really fun to color!

I've been looking for rose-patterned paper forever and finally found this
pretty stuff.  It comes in four color ways, each as pretty as the other!

I stuck a strip of tacky tape down the middle of some double  ruffled gingham ribbon, then cut it down the middle, removed the paper and adhered it around the edge of the oval. I like the look!

Image: "Ragged Romeo" form Mo's Digital Pencil

Tools: Copics, White gel pen, Cuttlebug with Nestibilities Oval die, Nellie Snellen Embossing leaf punch set, Mounting tape, Xacto knife, Tacky tape

Papers: SU! Melon Mambo, Neenah white, Rose DP from Digital Papers

Embellishments: Grosgrain ribbon, Ruffled gingham ribbon, Heart hat pin with Beads, Flowers from WOC, Pearl cabochons

Please join us this week in Mo's Challenge! You just might be one of the lucky ones to win a $5.00 gift certificate to Mo's Digital Pencil!

Odds and Ends

Just  a Few Cards

I have a few cards I've made over the past few weeks that I never got around to posting.

These are Valentine's Day cards.

I love this image from Mo's Digital Pencil! I added the digital sentiment to the heart. I also printed the heart twice, cut it out, and mounted it using foam tape to give it a bit of dimension.

Inside: "...And the rest of me is, too! happy Valentine's Day!"

Images: "My Chubby Valentine" from Mo's Digital Pencil, Digital sentiment

Tools: Copics, White gel pen, Cuttlebug with Nestibilities die, Heart and Heart border punches, Mounting tape, Tacky tape

Papers: SU! Turquoise, Neenah white, Valentine DP from Recollections

Embellishments, Narrow satin ribbon, Heart doily, Heart cabochons

Another image from Mo! Isn't she adorable?

I tried to get a picture that would  show the embossing I did on the image, but I don't think it shows up well. I did it by printing the image out regularly, then reversing it and printing it again on computer paper. I taped the computer paper image on the back of the card stock, lining up the images, then used a stylus to emboss the image from the back. The customer who bought it wanted to know how I did it!

Inside: "...Always makes me smile! Happy Valentine's Day!"

Images: "Full Heart" from Mo's Digital Pencil, Computer-generated sentiment

Tools: Copics, White gel pen, McGill envelope punch, Embossing stylus, Dimensional Dot, Tacky tape

Papers: SU! Real Red Cool Caribbean, Neenah white, SU! DP

Embellishments: Heart doily, Ruffled gingham ribbon, Stitched ribbon, Heart cabochons

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This last one uses a digital image from SU!. Her dress was plain, so I added the little flower pattern to give it some interest. The ruffle around the sentiment is ruffled ribbon cut down the middle and attached with tacky tape.

Inside: "It's me, Silly! Happy Valentine's Day!"

Images: "Greeting Card Kids" from SU!, Digital sentiment

Tools: Copics, White gel pen, White marker, Cuttlebug with Cheery Lynn border and flourish dies, Tacky tape

Papers: SU! Cranberry and Caribbean, Neenah white, SU! DP

Embellishments: Grosgrain ribbon, Doily, Ruffled gingham ribbon

Hope you liked them!

Mo's Challenge #172

Happy Birthday To......!

We're celebrating birthdays at Mo's Challenge this week!

I've used "Alissa with Roses" on this card. All Mo's images are adorable, but I think the face on this little lady is just lovely!  She's an absolute joy to color, too!
I really love the way this card turned out. The 'frame' behind the image panel is actually two whole die cuts with parts of a third to fill in the gaps on either side.

Inside: "To celebrate you! Happy Birthday!"

Images: "Alissa with Roses" from Mo's Digital Pencil, Digital sentiment

Tools: Copics,  Spica Pen, Cuttlebug with Marianne die, Nellie Snellen  embossing Rose leaf punch, glue dots

Papers: SU! Orchid, Lavender, and Celery, Neenah white, Digital DP

Embellishments: Flowers from WOC, Pearl cabochons
********************************

Here's another birthday card. This one would be perfect for a young boy.
Isn't this little rascal  cute?! Who's going to be the next one soaked?

Images: "Summer Boy" from Mo's Digital Pencil, Digital sentiment

Tools: Copics, White gel pen, Glue Dots

Papers: SU! Turquoise, Green Galore, Orange, Neenah white, Plaid DP

Embellishments: Buttons, Grosgrain ribbon scraps, Popsicle brads

Birthday cards are such fun to make, so make something wonderful and join us in the fun at Mo's Challenge! You just might be one of the lucky ones to win a $5.00 gift certificate to her store!

Thanks for dropping by!

Mo's Challenge # 171

Another "Anything Goes"

You just gotta love a challenge that's this easy! I love it when I get to do
whatever I want with no restrictions!

I love "Mummu,"so when I saw this new image, I had to have it! Here she is
gathering the bounty of her rose garden.

I couldn't resist adding some 'real' faux roses to her bouquet! I just poked  small holes where I wanted to place the flowers and pulled the wires through to the back of the image panel.

Her dress is paper-pieced using a smaller scale of the digital background paper.
That's one ofthe reasons I love digital paper! Just print out the pattern on a lightweight paper, feed it through the printer again, and print the image on top.
Then you just cut out the parts you need and paste it on to your colored image! Fun!

Images: "Mummu's Roses" from Mo's Digital Pencil, Digital sentiment from TLC

Tools: Copics, White gel pen

Papers: SU! Melon Mambo and Celery, Neenah white, Digital DP

Embellishments: Pearl cabochons, Satin ribbon, Roses from WOC, Hat pin, Beads, Dragonfly charm
